Abstract on Trench garden accepted as poster presentation in the East Africa Agro-ecology Conference

Following review by the Conference Organizing Committee,  PELUM Ethiopia’s submission of abstract on trench garden entitled 'Trench Gardening: An agro-ecological means to improve access to food and nutrition in Arid and Semi-Arid Areas of Ethiopian Rift Valley' has been accepted for Poster presentation at the 1st East African Agro-ecology Conference.

Intergenerational Linkage in the Agro-ecological Based Farming Communities

PELUM Ethiopia in collaboration with Best Practice Association (BPA) is organizing two day training on inter-generational linkage in the Agro-ecological based farming communities for selected youth and elders located in Lude Hitosa Woreda and held on February 25, 2023 in Huruta Town. The training aimed to develop intergenerational linkage between the young and old generation on their indigenous farming practices.

PELUM Ethiopia and MELCA Ethiopia are planning to jointly organize a Capacity Building and Orientation program for Media Professionals on Agro-ecology, Food Systems, and Biosafety Concepts to be held on January 30, 2023 at Grand Eliana Hotel, Addis Ababa.

First Ethiopian Agrobiodiversity- Seed and Food fair held

The promoters of Agro-ecology in Ethiopia are organized a one day first Ethiopian agrobiodiversity-Seed and Food Fair exhibition and held at Ghion hotel, Addis Ababa on January 26, 2023.

A Local seed production by exemplary farmers at Lode Hitosa woreda of Arsi zone

The farmer researchers were organized into Community Learning Groups (CLGs), provided local seeds, well capacitated with basic knowledge on preparation of simple soil fertility enhancing techniques and etc. by PELUM Ethiopia. The farmers used inputs free of inorganic fertilizers and agrichemicals. Recently, the plots were visited by farmers, PELUM Ethiopia and other concerned stakeholders. The results were encouraging. What a Fascinating local Wheat performance.
