PELUM ORGANIZED TRAINING FOR CONDO RESIDENTS ON SUSTAINABLE HOME GARDENING

PELUM ORGANIZED TRAINING FOR CONDO RESIDENTS ON SUSTAINABLE HOME GARDENING. Pelum Ethiopia organized a training on soil fertility enhancement technologies, integrated pest management (IPM), and home gardening management for condominium residents located in Yeka Abado, Addis Ababa on January 28, 2024

The training aimed to improve the participants’ knowledge and skills on how to grow healthy and productive crops in their limited space. The training consisted of presentations, practical sessions, and visits to successful home gardens in the area. During the two-way discussion, the trainees raised the gaps and challenges they faced in their own gardens and received possible solutions from the trainers and other participants. The training also encouraged the trainees to share their experiences and best practices with each other. At the end of the training, the trainees promised to apply the lessons learned and correct the mistakes they had made in their gardens. They also expressed their gratitude to PELUM Ethiopia for providing them with such a valuable opportunity. This training was an example of how PELUM Ethiopia empowers urban communities to achieve food security and environmental sustainability through home gardening.
